As 2012 is coming closer and closer to an end, I was thinking about all the concerts I've been to this year and wanted to compile a list of who I've seen and where I've seen them.
Mötley Crüe "In Sin City" - The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV - February 17, 2012
Me and Danny found out about this literally a few days before we left for Vegas. Floor seats for my birthday, we had a BLAST! We caught one of the last shows of the Crue's residency at the Hard Rock Casino, which ran from February 3 - February 19, 2012.
Van Halen with Kool & The Gang - "A Different Kind of Truth Tour" - Greensboro Coliseum
I actually won 4 tickets to Van Halen from work, so I took my brother, Smalls, and Glen. We skipped Kool and The Gang for a few beers at Sticks n Stones before heading into see the Mighty Van Halen.
Sunfest Music and Arts Festival - West Palm Beach Waterfront
West Palm Beach, FL - May 2, 2012 - May 6, 2012
I got to Sunfest every year with my Mom, it's a great chance for us to spend some quality time together and have fun. This year was a pretty ecclectic line up, acts ranged from Herbie Hancock to Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa. The 1st picture was during Snoop and Wiz's set.
Dierks Bentley with Eli Young Band, The Cadillac Black - White Oak Amphitheater
Greensboro, NC - May 18, 2012
I'm trying to dig up some pictures from this since it was my first ever country concert, I"ll add some later if I find any.
My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses - Raleigh Amphitheater
Raleigh, NC - August 26, 2012
Me, Smalls, and Alex Pegg made the trek down I-40 East to catch this show at the end of the summer. After we met up with Marshall and Elizabeth, we upgraded our seats for a better view. I didn't get nearly enough pictures from it, but it was an AWESOME show.
House of Fools with Future Ghosts, Jack The Radio, and Sugar Glyder - The Blind Tiger
Greensboro, NC - September 1, 2012
I've seen the House of Fools a couple of times this year and I snagged the poster for this show from the Blind Tiger and ended up putting in a frame. It's hanging up in my apartment now:
Circa Survive - "Violent Waves Tour" - Amos' Southend
Charlotte, NC - September 19, 2012
Me, Smalls, and Danny went to this one, we actually ran into my brother at the show. We missed the first 3 bands because we got stuck in traffic, but we made it in time to see Circa Survive, which in the end was really the only reason we went. I also have a tour poster from this show but I had to buy it from Circa's website since I couldn't find any at the actual venue.
House of Fools and O.A.R. - "Live At The Tracks" - Natty Greene's Pub & Brewing Company
Greensboro, NC - September 22, 2012
White Denim with Maps & Atlases - "Bonnaroo365 Tour" - Lincoln Theatre
Raleigh, NC - November 1, 2012
This was the ultimate low dough show, tickets were only 10 bucks. I heard about White Denim earlier in 2012 and they were by far one of the bands I wanted to see the most this year. My friend Matthew Spencer found out this was coming to Raleigh and bought the tickets. I'd say there were probably 60-70 people at the show total, excellent band and venue. The vacant parking deck we ended up parking in was pretty creepy at the end of the night.
I still have a few shows to see before the end of the year, namely Megadeth in Charlotte on November 25 and Fun. in Raleigh on November 29. So far by my count I've seen music in 3 states, 5 cities, and 10 different venues...pretty solid numbers so far.
